- What area(s) of design do you specialize in?
- Municipal, health care, educational, corporate office, club and recreation, retail, multi-family residential.
- What is your design background/education?
- I attended the Interior Design program in the School of Human Ecology at UW-Madison. I also studied design in Milan, Italy the summer before my senior year at the Institute of European Design.
- How did you get started in the design field?
- My first design experience came from a residential internship in Pewaukee, WI. There I learned a lot about products and pricing, but I was also given a lot of freedom which allowed me to develop my own clientele. My second internship at HGA Architects in Milwaukee gave me commercial design experience which turned out to be a great segway into working full time and gave me a good base to build on what I am doing now.
- Describe your design philosophy:
- Enhance the human environment with inspired, creative and rational design, which respects the past while revealing the potential of the future.
- What is your best advice for someone looking for an interior designer?
- Check out their past work and make sure you feel comfortable with them.
- How have you been involved in the WI Chapter ASID?
- During college I was the Secretary to the UW-Madison Student Chapter, and now I am the Professional Liaison to the Mount Mary College ASID Student Chapter.
- What design awards have you received?
- While in school I won the Silver award from the ASID Student Design Competition for my redesign of a corporate client, Stephan and Brady Marketing Group. I am still working on the Professional award!
- Do you have any interesting hobbies?
- Outside of design, I love to water-ski!
- If you won the lottery, you would...?
- Travel the world and learn photography!
