Jennifer R. Wagner, Allied Member ASID the Zimmerman Design Group

What area(s) of design do you specialize in?
Municipal, health care, educational, corporate office, club and recreation, retail, multi-family residential.

What is your design background/education?
I attended the Interior Design program in the School of Human Ecology at UW-Madison. I also studied design in Milan, Italy the summer before my senior year at the Institute of European Design.

How did you get started in the design field?
My first design experience came from a residential internship in Pewaukee, WI. There I learned a lot about products and pricing, but I was also given a lot of freedom which allowed me to develop my own clientele. My second internship at HGA Architects in Milwaukee gave me commercial design experience which turned out to be a great segway into working full time and gave me a good base to build on what I am doing now.

Describe your design philosophy:
Enhance the human environment with inspired, creative and rational design, which respects the past while revealing the potential of the future.

How have you been involved in the WI Chapter ASID?
During college I was the Secretary to the UW-Madison Student Chapter, and now I am the Professional Liaison to the Mount Mary College ASID Student Chapter.

What design awards have you received?
While in school I won the Silver award from the ASID Student Design Competition for my redesign of a corporate client, Stephan and Brady Marketing Group. I am still working on the Professional award!
